I am busy writing a new lambda to code emitter because I didn't trust the old one. I write it in monadic style, but as I am writing it, it also becomes clear how to write it in direct style. A thought occured: Thing is, when it comes to writing with encapsulated states, why would you bother about purity that much? The whole monadic style is one step back to impure stateful programming, not one step ahead.
