Looked at language support as implemented in Swig. It looks doable, around 1-2KLoc for a language extension in pretty readable code. Guess I'll take the ocaml examples and just let the compiler do its business.
(Need to take care of the amount of eggs in the basket though. Bootstrap, documentation generation, Swig, new typing, optimizations. The last two will need to wait until the bootstrap.)
